MISSION PURPOSE AND STATEMENT

It is the purpose of Clinton Christian Academy to:

*educate students in Truth and Righteousness, and in so doing, support the family and local Bible-believing churches

*provide quality education, instilling in each student honesty, integrity, hard work, and personal commitment

*assist families in the process of leading each child to a personal commitment to Christ

*provide teachers and monitors who will prepare themselves spiritually, academically, emotionally, and physically to teach in a spirit of understanding and love

*be an extension of the Christian home in training young people in a Christian

environment for time and eternity.

Clinton Christian Academy seeks to fulfill the God-given potential of each student by teaching excellence in academics, character, leadership, and responsibility through solid principles based of Scriptural Truth.

It is our desire to restore prayer and the Word of God in our children’s education.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that we should adhere to its

principles in the education of our children. God has revealed to us through His Word that

the primary responsibility for the education of children rests with their parents. (Duet. 4:9, 6:7, 31:13, Ps. 87:6-8, 1 Sam. 3:13, and many more) Further, it is our conviction that an education ignoring God and His Word, and purporting to be neutral can be only fragmentary, and morally and spiritually powerless. Clinton Christian Academy will offer a strong academic course of study with instruction from a definite Judeo-Christian viewpoint. We are interested in the establishment of good habits and right attitudes spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Since CCA is a Christian school, we believe that the training process includes spiritual education that will enable pupils to grasp basic Christian philosophies and responsibility of the home, church, and school.

Some specific objectives are:

** To prepare children spiritual by instilling in them a love for the Lord Jesus Christ, God, the Father, and His Holy Spirit, and a personal sense of responsibility to be all God wants them to be.

**To prepare children to live successfully according to Biblical principles.

**To encourage them to think clearly, logically and independently.

**To offer an instructional program that meets the academic needs of children.

**To develop an understanding of the world in which they live and the ability to appreciate and adjust to their environment.

**To achieve mastery in the tools of learning and communication.

**To develop a moral, ethical and spiritual sense which will aid them in appreciation of their own personal worth and that of others.

**To develop a sense of responsibility in each child as a Christian and as a citizen.

**To provide opportunities for developing skills necessary to make a living.

**To offer opportunities to participate in wholesome forms of recreation.

**To prepare each child for an outstanding position in life, to prepare for Spiritual leadership in school, home, church, and community.

Church Attendance

Students and parents are strongly encouraged to belong to and regularly attend a Bible believing church. Regular Church attendance is required at the congregation of your choice (3 out of 4 weeks per month) and a church bulletin may be requested in order to verify attendance.

Christian Americanism

Christian Americanism places emphasis upon the greatness of America’s heritage and the sacrifices of her heroes. America’s Constitution guarantees liberties to educate in order to preserve freedom. We unashamedly teach the Biblical doctrines of self-discipline, respect for authority, obedience to law, and love for God, flag, and country. Students will say the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, the Christian Flag, and the Bible each day.

STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Students of this Academy are expected to refrain from talking about or engaging in chewing, swearing, smoking, alcoholic beverages, narcotics, and immoral behavior. Students who participate in such activities are subject to suspension. Students are expected to act in an orderly and respectful manner, maintaining Christian standards of courtesy, cheerfulness, kindness, language, morality, and honesty. Students must agree to sign the Standard of Conduct Form.

Discipline is essential for the child and administered in a loving, just and consistent way. This creates the proper atmosphere for learning and assists each child in developing self-control. Without discipline, learning is in vain. Clinton Christian Academy will use a system of merits and demerits to encourage positive student behavior. Parents are expected to work with the Academy to enforce Godly behavior at school, in the home and the community.

Merits are earned by academic achievement, service in and around the school and church, and for outstanding performance in the classroom. Merits may accumulate to earn extra break time, longer lunch periods, purchase prizes in the school store, and (depending on the grade level) half or full days off.

Demerits are given for failing to follow classroom procedures, for exhibiting unacceptable behavior, and for neglecting homework assignments. Demerits will result in shortened break times, and/or lunch periods, after school detentions, and for serious offenses, possible suspension at the discretion of the principal and/or administrator.

Any public display of affection between students will not be tolerated. Students are expected to maintain a sense of mutual respect toward one another.

The use of profanity or threats will not be tolerated. Pushing or any aggressive behavior will not be allowed. Verbal or physical threats to others may be cause for suspension.

Anyone stealing may be suspended immediately.

A “Standard of Conduct Form,” must be signed by every student and parent prior to enrollment every year. Enrollment will be denied if this form is not signed.

Repeated or flagrant violations of scoring procedures may result in suspension or expulsion.

Clinton Christian Academy expects that its students live above reproach showing respect to God, country, family, faculty, and fellow students. Therefore, disrespect of authority, lying, cheating, stealing and profanity will not be tolerated.

CCA offers each student an opportunity for successful living in a Christian atmosphere of genuine happiness and pleasant daily practice of responsible, purposeful decisions for developing spiritually, academically, and personally into the person God wants him to be.

Our prayerful objective is that every student and teacher be completely obedient to God and under the control of the Holy Spirit. Successful Christian living is built, not on textbooks, but on Christ-centered expression and appreciation gained through full spiritual experiences.

Attendance at CCA is a privilege, not a right. Constructive suggestions are always welcome, but destructive communication only hinders progress. Anyone who will not cooperate spiritually, morally, or scholastically will be dismissed.

Disorderly conduct (goofing off, horseplay, disruptive talking, etc.) is not conducive to Christian character and leads to destruction of property. Therefore, it will not be tolerated.

In CCA these three fundamental rules must be followed:

*No student will be out of his seat without permission.

*No student will speak out in class without permission

*Students will always address and reply to teachers and staff with the utmost of respect. (“Please” and “Thank you”, “Yes, Ma’am/No, Ma’am, “Yes, Sir/No, Sir”. etc.)

BEHAVIOR

A student’s conduct at all times will be that which is becoming to a Christian boy or girl. Students know what good behavior is and it is expected of them. The teachers and administrators are here to guide and assist in learning - it is not expected that a disproportionate amount of time will be required to discipline students.

1. A few basic rules are necessary:

*In passing through the building there is to be no running or excessive noise.

*Candy, food, and beverages will be consumed only in designated areas.

*Phone calls, home or otherwise will be made only after securing permission from the office. Cell phones must be turned in at the office while the student is on campus.

*Students will not enter the classroom before 8:30 a.m., except those with specific responsibilities

*Students will wait at designated areas at dismissal time under supervision from academy staff. Children will not be allowed in any other part of the building. They must be picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal. Parents are expected to call if they will be delayed.

*Students will be respectful of all school personnel and fellow students in both action and word. The common courtesies of “please” and “thank you” and “yes, Ma’am/Sir” and “no Ma’am/Sir” are expected. Teachers will also address students respectfully.

*There is NO gum chewing at any time in the building.

*Respect for your fellow students and school property, including textbooks is expected to be exemplary at all times. Students should maintain Christian standards and attitudes of honesty, courtesy, and kindness at all times.

2. Moral Conduct:

We believe students at CCA need to uphold high standards of moral conduct. A CCA student involved in the activity of indecent language, violence, immorality, tobacco use, alcoholic beverages, or illegal drugs, in or out of the school setting, will be subject to school guidelines.

*Indecent language cannot and will not be tolerated. First time violations will result in one-day suspension. Further violations will be reviewed by the administration with appropriate measures taken.

*Violence of any nature (kicking, hitting, temper tantrums, criminal activity, use of weapons, etc.) will not be tolerated at CCA. The administration will review each situation and take appropriate measures.

*A student’s character, especially in the area of morality, is a key part of the student’s enrollment at CCA. Students involved in sexual immorality of any kind will be reviewed by the administration. When students are involved in sexual immorality, the immediate parties involved will be expelled. Also other deviant sexual behavior, such as homosexuality or behaviors such as stated in Romans 1:24-32 will be grounds for dismissal.

*Computer Integrity - Students who use the Internet at home or at school are asked to refrain from logging onto or viewing web sites which are sexually suggestive or explicit. These web sites are detrimental to the development of Godly character, and therefore they are prohibited.

*Cheating on homework, projects, quizzes, and tests, etc. will not be tolerated. The following disciplinary measures will be taken:

1st offense - 1 day suspension

2nd offense - 3 day suspension

3rd offense - review by Board/probable expulsion

*Lying is another area of character immorality that will not be acceptable at CCA. Repeated lying offenders will be properly disciplined and necessary actions will be taken if no change in character occurs.

*Use of tobacco of any kind is prohibited by CCA students. Violations will be reviewed by administration with appropriate measures taken.

*Students involved in the use of alcoholic beverages will be subject to the following guidelines:

1st offense - 2 week suspension with zeroes for all work

2nd offense - Dismissal from school

*CCA will not tolerate the use of prohibited drugs by any student. Any student using or possessing such drugs will be expelled.

*Two suspensions (in-school or out-of-school) in a school term will result in administrative review and possible dismissal.

***The administration and the School Committee have the right to review each situation and within that right can dismiss a student on any occasion.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The school admits students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, and athletic or other school administered programs.

DRESS CODE

The purpose of the Clinton Christian Academy’s dress code is fourfold. 1. To assure modesty and decency prevail among the students and staff. 2. To encourage students to always maintain proper appearance. 3. To Promote a good personal testimony. 4. To encourage the development of a positive, healthy self-esteem/concept based on Christian principles of righteousness, not outward appearance.

Our desire is to present a student body that practices good hygiene, neatness and modesty. We agree with studies showing that students act in relationship to the way they dress. Our intention is to refocus the students’ priorities to reflect a Godly spirit, rather than a fashionable image.

The following guidelines apply to school and school-related activities unless otherwise stated.

Uniform Shirts

Uniform shirts are to be ordered in the CCA office. There are several styles available in men’s and women’s styles, including acceptable polo style shirts with long or short sleeves, sweatshirts, cardigans and fleece wear for winter months. Long sleeve shirts or sweatshirts are recommended for cooler months. Sweaters or Sweatshirts must be plain, without name brand logos or other writing, and must be CCA colors, red, black or white. The previous practice of buying shirts from various vendors has resulted in confusion as to which styles meet school criteria and which do not. For the purpose of clarity on this issue, uniform shirts may only be purchased through CCA office and must be loose fitting and appropriately sized. These uniform shirts may not be altered in any way, specifically, they may not be altered to be more form fitting. This practice goes against the above stated purpose of the dress code.

Uniform Pants

Tan, khaki colored pants are the only acceptable option for the 2007-08 school year.

Skirts will be allowed for female students. Capri length pants are acceptable for girls.

Pants in need of repair such as missing buttons, zipper replacement, or torn seams must be repaired before being worn at CCA.

Shoes

Shoes must be neat and functional. Shoes that prevent or impair a student’s ability to participate in the daily routine are not acceptable.

Regarding Shorts

Tan, khaki colored shorts will be allowed at school and on field trips weather permitting. They must touch the kneecap or below the knee while the student is in a standing position. They must not sag, bind, or restrict movement in any way. Belts will be required for shorts with belt loops.

PLEASE NOTE: THE SCHOOL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE STUDENT APPEARANCE COMPLIES WITH SCHOOL DRESS CODE. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE SCHOOL MAY TAKE NECESSARY ACTION TO CORRECT ANY STUDENT FAILING TO MEET THESE STANDARDS.

Should corrective action become necessary, students will be issued a demerit, sent to the office, given attire which meets dress code standards and asked to change. Only when they have changed, will a student be permitted to enter the learning center. A note will be sent home in the communication envelope by the classroom teacher explaining why the attire in question has been deemed unacceptable. It is expected the problem will be rectified immediately. Repeated violations of the dress code will be viewed as willful disobedience of school policy and may result in after school detention, in-school suspension, parent/school conference or out of school suspension.

Recess - Outdoor recess is anticipated daily and considered a vital part of the day’s activities. Please dress your child according to the weather with appropriate outerwear and shoes.

Again, this is for the safety of your child as well as the proper functioning of the school. Please send a signed note by parent or guardian explaining the absence from school the day your child returns. Any student absent for three days because of sickness may be required to have a doctor’s release. Please do not send your child to school if he/she is ill. Any student whose absences (excused or unexcused) exceed 18 in one school year will be required to attend summer school. Failure to do so will result in expulsion for the following school year. Clinton Christian Academy operates as a closed campus. Students will not be allowed to leave the school property during school hours without permission from their parents and the school administration. Parents must come in and sign the student in or out in the office. Students with drivers license must bring written permission for them to leave the building for any reason during school hours.

Please remember this is for the safety of your child. Unfamiliar persons will be asked for identification. All visitors must report to the school office and obtain a pass before entering the learning center!
